Vorkath Explained

Vorkath Explained

In the game, you will encounter two variants of the same dragon. After the first Dragon Slayer II boss, a much stronger version of Vorkath will appear. However, both versions can be fought in a solo match. Vorkath is a zombie for the Slayer task.

Since he is undead, he’s hard to beat, but there are many benefits to killing and winning against this monster. For example, killing Vorkath using the Toxic Blowpipe grants you an hourly profit of 2,221,574 gold.

To make it enjoyable, if you do the same with a Dragon Hunter Lance, the rate increases to 3,912,534. This is true, given you have great stats to fight the undead. The average Vorkath kill will give you at least 155,859.24 gold and a lot of other items.

Here’s a list of them:

  • Superior Dragon Bones (x2)
  • Blue Dragonhide (x2)
  • Rune Longsword (2-3)
  • Rune Kiteshield (2-3)
  • Battlestaff (5-15)
  • Dragon Battleaxe (x1)

But that’s not where the game ends. Along with these items, you will also get a considerable sum of weapons and armor, runes, dragonhide materials, fletching materials, and more.

Strategies That Work Against Vorkath

Strategies That Work Against Vorkath

We must understand how it works before we fight the giant lousy dragon. For reference, Vorkath uses many attacks. Some of his primary attacks include range and magic. However, if you get too close to him, he will maul you with melee.

It uses three types of Dragonfire to make things deadly: regular, evil, and prayer-disabling. In this guide, we cover each of them in the next section, so stay tuned. But here are some notes you should take about this mighty dragon.

  1. After six regular/dragonfire attacks, Vorkath will only use one of two special attacks and keep using them.
  2. By freezing the player in a place, Vorkath will bring forth a Zombified Spawn that will explode on the player. This will give you 61 damage.
  3. Acid pools are strong attacks that must be dodged. If not, it will deal with great damage swiftly.

Before we begin learning how to defeat Vorkath, you must understand its ability to fight. Here are some of the strongest attacks that it offers.

Standard Attacks

  • We have Melee, Magic, Ranged, and Dragonfire in standard attacks. For melee, Vorkath will only attack if you’re in the range. The dragon will swipe at the player with its deadly claws and try to defeat you.
  • When it comes to magic, it releases a bright-blue projectile at the player, giving you 30 damage. However, if you are protected from magic, you can easily ignore his magical attacks.
  • Then we have the ranged attack, which is quite deadly. Vorkath could do 32 damage by launching its spiked all that comes towards you here. However, if you have protection from missiles, you can block his attack.
  • Then we have its Dragonfire, which comes in various forms. You see, the normal Dragonfire only deals with damage. The Venom Dragonfire will continue to hurt you no matter how much you run away. Lastly, Pink Dragonfire will disable all of your prayers once it hits you.

Special Attacks

As the Vorkath guide for OSRS, we will also cover its special attacks. Vorkath does two primary attacks, and here they are.

  • Zombified Ice Dragonfire: With this particular attack, Vorkath freezes the player in their place and summons a zombified version of itself. The dragon will be immune to all damage until the zombie goes away. It will explode once it moves towards you, giving you 60 damage.
  • Acid Pool Quickfire Barrage: This attack incorporates launching acid around the arena, where 25 dragonfires will be thrown at you. You get ten damage per attack.

Tips to Beat Vorkath

Vorkath

1. Ranged (Crossbow)

The Dragon Hunter Crossbow is one of the most effective weapons against Vorkath. Why? Well, this weapon’s passive effect and accuracy will allow you to deal with a lot of damage. Let’s say you have the Salve amulet and Void Knight equipment.

In that case, your damage will be off the charts, allowing you to fight against the dragon in the most effective way possible. Ideally, by choosing the equipment that we’ve mentioned, you will do quite well against Vorkath.

2. Ranged (Blowpipe)

If you have the Blowpipe, its toxic properties will become deadly against Vokarth. This weapon is so good that it is one of the best OSRS Vorkath strategies ever. For this equipment, you should aim for Void Knight equipment.

Moreover,  you can also use standard-ranging armor as they provide high damage output. All in all, if you’re looking to beat Vorkath in the most efficient ranged way, then the toxic blowpipe will cater to you the best!
